State officials say Oklahoma's unemployment rate dipped below 5 percent in April. The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission says the state's unemployment decreased by one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.9 percent last month. Oklahoma City names Randy Moulder as the new streets superintendent. He's a 30-year city employee and was the assistant superintendent under Mike DeGiacomo before he passed away unexpectedly in September 2012. Moulder will oversee approximately 222 employees who patch potholes, clean and repair drainage structures as well as clean the Oklahoma River.

Oklahomans could see tornadoes this weekend. Meteorologists say conditions will be right both Sunday and Monday. Sufficient moisture and warm temperatures are in place and a trough of low pressure is expected to move across the state Sunday triggering storms. Large hail, strong winds, and tornadoes are possible.

An Oklahoma conservative leader calls the Obama Administration's reaction thus far to the IRS scandal, nothing more than business as usual... present public outrage while taking absolutely no responsibillity for anything that happened.. OCPAC President Charlie Meadows says the forced resignation of the acting IRS Commissioner is "window dressing" and thinks the wrongdoing goes much, much higher than someone who was getting ready to leave anyway. Meadows says the only course of action for Obama is to call for an absolutely independent counsel since this administration is too conflicted here to satisfy anyone that is intellectually honest. He points out that Chuck Colson went to jail for similar intimidation tactics under the Nixon Administration and believes people should go to prison in this case. Meadows admits he doesn't know who that might be but if it walks all the way up to the President, serious impeachment proceedings should be considered.

The Oklahoma Senate unveils a new plan to divert $80 million in sales and use taxes to pay for the completion of an American Indian museum in Oklahoma City and build a new popular culture museum in Tulsa. A Senate budget committee approves both measures, which next must be considered by a similar committee in the House, where the proposals are likely to face strong resistance.
